Thunder Drift: Northern California's Drift Spot
Written by Johnathan Bodily
ThunderDrift events are located at the Thunder Hill raceway in Willow, California. http://www.thunderhill.com/"
Since drifting is much more laid-back than racing, the rules are simple!
- Any car may enter providing it passes tech (see forms & tech)
- Any driver may enter providing he/she is over 18, or has a minor-release waiver signed by his/her parents.
- Anyone with any issues or complaints regarding any aspect of the event shall report them to the event chairman immediately.
- Unsportsmanlike Conduct will not be tolerated.
Here's how the judging/scoring system works:
3 Judges will score each driver on a 100 point scale. At the end of each elimination, judges will select their best score for each driver, then the 3 scores will be averaged leaving a final score.
Drivers will get 3 runs for the first elimination, and 2 runs for every elimination following. Eliminations will generally be as follows: 1st - top 15, 2nd - top 8, 3rd (final) - top 3.
Points will be awarded to all competing drivers. The breakdown is as follows:
1st place - 100pts
2nd place - 95pts
3rd place - 90
4th place - 85pts
5th place - 80pts
all other drivers will receive 50pts.
